Face down, Butt up... That's the way my kids like to sleep. I guess like brother like sister because this is usually how I find my kids in the mornings.

Ever wonder what happens when a 2 year old shoves an M&M mini up their nose, well we do now. Easton told us he put one in his nose but we couldn't feel it so we thought he was just joking around until minutes later he had chocolate dripping from his nostril. I think they can officially change their slogan to melts in your nose not in your hand.

Baptism

I was honored with the privilege of being asked to be the Godmother of my best friend Natalie's son Chase. This last weekend was his baptism in good old Catholic fashion. Chase is only 3 weeks older then Leighton so I know we will be watching our kids grow up together so being Chase's Godmother is just icing on the cake because I have known him since he was only hours old and I love him like he was my own. Natalie and Tom are Easton's Godparents so we will be celebrating a lot of special occasions together over the next 20 years and beyond. Here are some pictures of the baptism and one of Chase and Leighton BFF's!!!

It's been forever!!!

So it's been forever since I have posted on here but I have been somewhat busy. Wade and I welcomed the arrival of our baby girl on May 20th, 2009 After going into false labor on more then one occasion Leighton Marie Tacheny made her debut weighing in at 7lbs 3oz and 20 inches long. She was perfect, I guess I can't complain too much because when she finally did decide to come she came right out after one push. I don't think I could of dreamed up an easier labor. So with that being said I have been spending most of the summer so far enjoying my kids. I got to spend 8 weeks at home with them and it was a blast, Easton is getting so big and mature. He loves being a big brother, he definitely hasn't experienced any loss of attention I think he has actually become more spoiled by his aunt Ne Ne and grandparents. I thought Leighton and I would form a huge bond with me being home but that sure didn't last long she has quickly become a daddy's girl, she loves laying on her daddy's stomach and falling asleep and when she is upset he is the only one to calm her down. He just has away with babies I guess !!! So far this summer has been awesome even though Wade and I spend most of our time calming down a new born or chasing after a 2 1/2 year old but it has been an adventure and we are enjoying every minute (maybe not every minute) Here are some photos of the kids, I will post more summer events soon.

Baking Cookies with Daddy

It's a good thing Easton is learning to cook and bake from his dad. Wade is the cook and the baker in our family which is very lucky for us because if it were left up to me we would probably end up eating all our meals from the microwave. This weekend Easton and Wade spoiled me by baking my favorite cookies oatmeal chocolate chip. As Wade described it to Easton it is a always smart to make a pregnant women whatever she wishes to keep her happy. Easton had a blast mixing in all the ingredients and stirring them together. It was fun to watch how involved he was and how excited he was to help. And we all enjoyed the finished product.

Lately...

"All play all the time", Easton's motto... Not much new in the Tacheny household other then watching Easton learn new things every minute of everyday. He is quite the comedian and he keeps us on our toes. Lately he has enjoyed playing with his dog in his tent, not Bryer's favorite thing to do but he is a good sport. Easton's new favorite thing is pretending Daddy is a "horsey"and him a wild bull rider seeing if he can stay on his daddy's back without getting bucked off. He is in to everything and most days and nights his room looks like a battle field of toys no matter how many times mommy cleans it up. He will be making his Aunty Natalie very happy as he recently discovered his baseball glove she got him for Christmas. Even though mom and dad don't no jack about baseball we trust that if someday he decides to play she will be there to give him pointers. Also he is patiently awaiting going to his first Twins games this season. Can't Wait!!!
He spends his days now with his uncle Justin, Aunt Ne Ne and Aunty Bre, he is a very very lucky boy to have such an awesome family and Wade and I are so blessed to have so many people willing to help watch our son. So thank you guys so much we love you!!!

It's Hockey Time!!!

This weekend we finally got Easton on skates, granted we haven't made it to the ice yet but we are well on our way now. Easton got his first pair of hockey skates and a new helmet so he is all ready to start playing. He was a little hesitant at first so of course being the good parents we are we bribed him with candy to put on his new skates. I think Wade and I were just as proud during this moment as we were when he took his first steps. He was little wobbly when he was walking on his skates but in time he will become the hockey prodigy that we have been grooming, just kidding. We are just happy to get him on the ice. Unfortunately mom won't be a huge part of his training this year but you can bet I will be there to document it all.

Happy Birthday Bre!!!

Happy Birthday aunty Bre, January 24th was my sister's 23rd birthday. We celebrated at my mom and dad's house with a lasagna dinner and chocolate cake. Easton was a huge help to his in aunt when it came to blowing out her trick candles that kept relighting which he thought was awesome. We had a great night so Happy Birthday Bre we hope you had a great day.

It's a Girl!!!

Wade and I are so happy because we just found out we are having a baby girl. I was so 100% sure it was another boy but when she said girl I was more happy then I could ever describe. I feel so blessed to be able to raise both a boy and a girl plus I won't be out numbered by boys, YEAH!!! Well we get to meet Leighton Marie Tacheny in May but in the mean time everything is going very well and I am half way there (Thank God).

Bryer & Me

So I recently saw Marley and Me and it was like someone made a movie about our dog Bryer. He is my first born child, although he can be crazy and sometimes I want to... well you know. I can never stay mad at him. Bryer is about 6 months older then Easton and they are best friends, Easton won't even go to bed at night unless Bryer is at the end of his bed. Not to mention Easton's baby Bryer which is his stuffed dog that he can not be without for more the 5 minutes. Seeing the movie was a good reminder as to how much I love and adore my big hairy yellow lab and that I wouldn't want to live with out him.

Presents, Presents and more Presents!!!

Christmas flew by once again this year but, every year gets better and better. This year was no exception we had the best time with family, Wade and I hosted Christmas Eve this year and we had a great time just relaxing and enjoying our company. Easton was a blast to watch this year like typical kids he blew through all his presents (and there were a TON!!!) skipping the clothes and admiring all his new toys. He was so excited as he opened each new present and saw all his new toys which are not scattered all over his room to the point where we have to clear a path just to get to his bed. Needless to say Christmas has become much more fun when you see it through a 2 years old's eyes.
